The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program awards up to 100 high-achieving students every year with full funding to pursue a graduate education at Stanford. To be considered, you must apply to Knight-Hennessy Scholars by September 27, 2017, and separately apply to the Materials Science & Engineering department by November 15, 2017.
Key Dates and Deadlines for 2018 Entry
May 1, 2017: You can now apply to be a Knight-Hennessy Scholar.
September 27, 2017: Submit your Knight-Hennessy Scholars application by September 27, 2017. The Materials Science & Engineering application will be available by this point, as well.
November 15, 2017: Submit your Materials Science & Engineering application.
Mid-December, 2017: Up to 100 Knight-Hennessy Scholars finalists will be selected and invited to visit Stanford for Immersion Weekend, likely January 19-21, 2018. This will give you the opportunity to learn more about Materials Science & Engineering and about Stanford more generally, and also will allow Knight-Hennessy Scholars to get to know you better.
Mid-February, 2018: The pioneer class of Knight-Hennessy Scholars will be selected and notified in mid-February, 2018. The Materials Science & Engineering department will also notify applicants selected as Knight-Hennessy Scholars of admission to the department.
Summer 2018: The pioneer class of Knight-Hennessy Scholars comes together for an orientation experience on campus.
Autumn 2018: Enroll at Stanford in the Materials Science & Engineering program.
