Knight-Hennessy Scholars develops a community of future global leaders to address complex challenges through collaboration and innovation. This year, the program will award up to 75 high-achieving students with full funding to pursue a graduate education at Stanford, including full-time master's and PhD's in Material Sciences and Engineering. To be considered, you must apply to Knight-Hennessy Scholars by September 12, 2018, and separately apply to the Material Sciences and Engineering department by November 14, 2018.
May 1, 2018: You can now apply to be a Knight-Hennessy Scholar.
September 12, 2018: Submit your Knight-Hennessy Scholars application by 1:00pm Pacific Time on September 12, 2018. The Materials Science & Engineering application will be available by the end of September.
November 14, 2018: Submit your Materials Science & Engineering application no later than this date.
January 16, 2019: You will be notified that you are either one of up to 150 applicants invited to participate in Immersion Weekend, or that you are not selected as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar.
February 9-11, 2019: Up to 150 finalists will be invited to Stanford for Immersion Weekend, at our expense. Immersion Weekend offers a comprehensive preview of life as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar and allows Stanford the opportunity to learn more about you.
Mid-February 2019: Immersion Weekend participants will be notified whether or not they are selected as one of up to 75 Knight-Hennessy Scholars in the 2019 cohort. (If you are selected as a scholar, then your department also would notify you of your admission to the graduate degree program.)
September 2019: You’ll enroll at Stanford as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar and in the Materials Science & Engineering program .
