The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford University invites applications for a 12 month Lecturer position starting Summer/Fall 2023. This is a nontenure line, full-time teaching position for an initial 3-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal.

The candidate's primary responsibility involves teaching one course per quarter in addition to a 1-unit undergraduate seminar. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to contribute to organizing summer undergraduate research programs, as well as other undergraduate initiatives in the department (e.g. academic advising, social events). Applicants should have a strong commitment to and demonstrated aptitude for excellence in teaching. All candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in one of the following disciplines: Materials Science and Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline, Chemistry, Physics, or Applied Physics. Further information about the Materials Science and Engineering Department at Stanford can be found at: http://mse.stanford.edu/

The expected base pay range for this position is $80,000 - $107,605.

Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the qualifications of the selected candidate, budget availability, and internal equity.
